Government Opens Intrastate Movement for Stranded People

After a month of being stuck in lockdown at various places, migrant workers, tourists, students & other stranded people across various areas of the nation, can finally take a sigh of relief. The Ministry of Home Affairs on Wednesday issued an order allowing intrastate movement for such people stranded in different places.

As per the order issued, MHA has directed the states & union territories in India to take care of the travel of people stranded & facilitate intrastate movement. However, the order also clearly stated that these intrastate movements should not breach the guidelines of lockdown in place.

The states & union territories are asked to appoint various nodal officers to ensure a smooth & efficient process while outlining different protocols for the initiative.

The process should be discussed between the two states or territories (from where people belong & where they are stranded) & the intrastate movement via road shall be decided mutually.

The busses will be thoroughly sanitized at regular intervals, and the people involved shall be screened properly. Moreover, the social distancing norms shall be taken care of & after the commute, the travelers shall be checked up by health-professional & quarantined to ensure safety.
