After a month-and-half of nationwide lockdown, things seem to be falling in place with various businesses and operation starting in the orange & green zones. The Indian Railways is no exception as it plans to start passenger train operations from May 12 for which online IRCTC train ticket bookings start from today 11th May at 6:00 PM instead of 4:00 PM.
The operations will begin with 15 trains being run at the initial level. The Railway Minister on Sunday announced how things would progress. As per his statement, the trains that will be from Tuesday will run as special trains from the New Delhi railway station. These trains will connect Dibrugarh, Agartala, Howrah, Patna, Bilaspur, Ranchi, Bhubaneswar, Secunderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram, Madgaon, Mumbai Central, Ahmedabad, and Jammu Tawi.
Please Note:
– Train Tickets can be only booked online during this phase, Railways is planning to resume more trains in future.
– Only those with a confirmed train ticket will be allowed to enter inside the station, no passenger with waitlist tickets will be allowed to travel.
– No tatkal ticket or premium tatkal reservation will be available for these trains.
