The national capital on 10th-May, Sunday witnessed massive dust clouds covering the entire region and its neighbouring areas. Apart from the dust storm that wandered in the area, there were also reports of light showers from different parts.
The occurrence comes a day after the region’s temperature touched its second-highest of the season, 40.9 degrees Celsius. The happening led to a significant dip to the rising temperature providing a sigh of relief to the residents.
The Met department, in its statement, referred to the dust storm as a result of fresh weather disturbance. It further stated that in the coming times, moderate or light showers accompanied by thundery lights are expected.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted chances of rain & thunderstorms in Delhi & nearby areas in the coming 3-4 days.
Adding to this, Delhi was also hit by a small-scale earthquake later on the day after having coped-up with the dust storms. The magnitude of the earthquake was reported to 3.5 on the seismic scale.
