In an attempt to deal with COVID-19 and make things easier for the common people, the government has been undertaking various measures ever since. In the latest initiative, the Union Government has ordered an extension till September 30th for all transport documents that were expiring between February 1 and June 30.
“Given the current circumstances to avoid hardships being faced by transporters and citizens, state governments are further advised that these documents be considered valid till September 30, 2020 for enforcement purpose,”
The order shall be applicable to all sorts of vehicles including transport vehicles like cabs, trucks, private buses and autos as well as non-transport vehicles like two-wheeler and cars.
“Taking into consideration the grim situation still continuing due to conditions for prevention of the spread of COVID-19 across the country, it is advised that …the validity of Fitness, Permit (all types), Learner’s License, Driving License, Registration or any other concerned document whose extension of validity could or not likely be granted due to lock-down and which has expired since Feb 1, 2020, or will expire till September 30, 2020, the same may be treated to be valid till September 30, 2020,” the official notification issued by the Union Ministry read.
With the order coming into act all the documents expiring between February 1 and June 30 shall not be considered valid till September 30 and no penalty charges shall be implied on the processing of documents expired after February 1.
