As a part of one of the most innovative measures adopted by Indian Railways to prevent further spread of COVID-19 among the railways’ staff, RPF staff, medical staff & passengers, the authorities have introduced an ‘Ultra Violet Sanitizer Box.’
The device will be responsible for the sanitization of important documents, files, and similar papers in order to prevent the spread of the deadly virus through. Documents are known to travel from one hand to another hand, making it one of the major carriers of the virus while increasing the potential risk of the spread.
The initiative has been undertaken by the Western zone of the Railways with the device being installed at the Coaching Depot of Western Railways in Sabarmati.
The news was shared on the official twitter handle of Western Railways as well as the Ministry of Railways.

Indian railways since the beginning are deployed towards ensuring proper safety of passengers as well as the staff members. Therefore, various innovative approaches have been undertaken by the authorities. Some of the measures taken prior to this include installation of ‘Automated Ticket Wending Machine,’ ‘Automated Ticket Checking,’ ‘Automated Mask & Hand Sanitizer Dispenser’, and ‘Captain Arjun.’
