Four Major Stations to be Revamped into Airport-like hubs

After establishing dominance in maintaining punctuality records & achieving milestones like no railway fatalities, the authorities are now working towards infrastructure improvements. As per a recent announcement Indian Railway Stations Development Corporation (IRSDC), is all set to renovate 4 major railway stations into airport-like hubs.

The four stations that are all set to be renovated include the likes of Gwalior, Amritsar, Nagpur, and Sabarmati.


The Railway Ministry of India is currently inclined towards beautifying and redeveloping various railway stations situated across the nation, in order to promote comfort and facilities to its passengers.

The news was shared on the official twitter handle of Ministry of Railways wherein the authorities tweeted, “The Indian Railway Stations Development Corporation (IRSDC), under the Railway Ministry, is all set to transform four railway stations, namely Gwalior, Amritsar, Nagpur and Sabarmati into airport-like hubs.”



The four stations mentioned above becomes the first-ever to have received approval from the Public-Private Partnership Appraisal Committee, formed by the Indian government for PPP projects.

The Indian Railway Stations Development Corporation (IRSDC) shall be seeking proposals for the master plan as well as the building plan from local authorities. The last date to submit a bid for the project to IRSDC is June 26, 2020.
