Indian Railways to Start 45 More pairs of Special Trains

The Indian Railways is reported to begin 45 more pairs of Special Trains in addition to the already running 115 pairs of Special Trains. The news comes as a big relief to people, and as per the reports, the first list of the proposed 90 trains has been sent to the Home Ministry for approvals.

Once the list is approved from the Home Ministry, the trains shall be started as soon as the next week from the approval.


The Indian Railways has been primarily inclined towards adhering to the COVID-19 prevention guidelines specified by the Ministry of Railways and the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. Thus, undertaking various measures like social-distancing, discontinued distribution of linen, and mandating the wearing of masks.

The Indian Railways is currently running 115 pairs of Special trains since May 12. Moreover, the railways had recently suspended all the passenger trains till August 12. However, the special trains currently running remain unaffected by the decision.
